๐ “IT WAS LIKE A NIGHTMARE…” — Jasmine Harman Reveals the Terrifying Moment Her Husband Collapsed On Set
Jasmine, 48, and Jon, now 46, have been documenting the highs and lows of renovating their dream home in Estepona for their brand-new Channel 4 series. But viewers were blindsided when the latest episode revealed terrifying footage of Jon being rushed to hospital after falling seriously ill.
And now, Jasmine has shared the full story — and the emotional toll — behind that shocking moment.
“He Said He Felt Strange… Then It Got Worse Very Quickly”
The day of the incident had started peacefully enough. After lunch, Jon mentioned feeling “a bit off,” but within minutes everything changed.
“He said he felt funny and needed to lie down,” Jasmine recalled. “Then he became restless, uncomfortable, and said his chest felt tight. That’s when I knew something was very wrong.”
A Family History That Made Everything Even More Terrifying
Jon had already spoken during filming about the painful history of heart issues in his family. His sister, Jo, tragically passed away in 2016 at just 40 years old from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.
Knowing this made every second of Jon’s collapse feel even more dangerous.
And worse — he had only recently been recovering from a broken leg and a thrombosis. Another risk factor weighing heavily on everyone’s minds.
Yet Jasmine says something inside her stayed calm.
“I don’t know why, but I felt this strange sense of ‘don’t panic — he’ll be okay.’ Even though it was terrifying.”
Rushed to Hospital — and a Diagnosis That Changed Everything
Jon was taken straight to a Spanish hospital, where doctors moved quickly.
Their verdict stunned the couple:
๐ He had suffered a mild heart attack.
He was immediately put through tests, scans, and monitoring. Because of his family history, he was already under regular screening — but now even more investigations have been added.
Thankfully, doctors reassured them he was stable and responding well to treatment.
“It Makes You Realise What Really Matters…”
The ordeal shook Jasmine to her core — especially after also losing several close friends in recent years, including fellow presenter Jonnie Irwin.
Turning 50 this week, she says the experience has completely shifted her perspective:
“You start realising that so much of what we stress about doesn’t matter. We were lucky. It could have been so much worse.”
“Even with all the fear of what might have happened… I feel grateful. Grateful he survived. Grateful it wasn’t worse. Grateful for every day.”
A Moment That Shocked Viewers — and Changed a Family Forever
And now, she hopes sharing it helps others take their health — and their loved ones — seriously.
