Emmerdale Star James Moore’s Heartfelt Mission to Honour His Late Father — A Journey of Courage, Grief, and Hope πŸ’”πŸ”️

For fans of Emmerdale, James Moore is a familiar face as Ryan Stocks, Charity Dingle’s long-lost son who has tackled some of the soap’s most intense storylines since 2018. But away from the cameras, James is taking on a deeply personal and inspiring mission to honour his late father, Stephen Moore, and raise vital awareness for Myeloma UK.

Honouring a Father’s Legacy
Stephen Moore, diagnosed with myeloma — an incurable form of blood cancer — in 2021, was a calming presence in the lives of those who knew him. Even during his illness, he always put others first, caring deeply for his family and friends. Tragically, Stephen passed away four years later, leaving a void that James has sought to fill through action and advocacy.

“My dad was an amazing father, a loving husband, and a doting grandfather,” James shared. “Even in the toughest moments, he was thinking about everyone else before himself. I want to honour his life and the legacy of his kindness.”

A Challenge Like No Other
To pay tribute, James is preparing for a climb unlike any other: an indoor ascent that totals 1,345 metres — the exact height of Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain. This isn’t just a physical challenge; it’s a symbolic journey of perseverance, reflecting the resilience his father embodied every day.

Slated for October 25, the climb will see James joined by a small group of family and friends, working together to reach the top in a single day. The goal? To raise crucial funds for Myeloma UK, supporting the 33,000 people in the UK currently living with this condition and their families.

Turning Grief Into Purpose
For James, bouldering has become more than a sport. It’s a source of therapy, focus, and mental strength — qualities he hopes will inspire others. Living with cerebral palsy has given him a unique perspective on resilience, and now he’s channeling that into something bigger than himself.

“You need concentration, strategy, and persistence in bouldering — it’s mentally and physically challenging,” he explained. “This climb is about raising awareness, honouring my dad, and supporting families going through what we went through. I want to show that even in grief, you can find purpose and make a difference.”

A Mission for Hope and Awareness
Beyond the climb, James’s mission is to fund research and push for a future where myeloma can be treated more effectively — and eventually cured. His efforts are a poignant reminder that ordinary acts of courage can spark extraordinary change.

“What I’d really love is to see a cure for myeloma,” James said. “We owe it to families and patients to keep raising awareness and funding research. Every bit of support counts.”

Fans Invited to Join the Journey
Supporters, friends, and fans are encouraged to cheer on James and his team during the climb. The event isn’t just about fundraising; it’s about building a community of compassion, sharing stories, and remembering loved ones affected by this devastating illness.

Through courage, dedication, and an unbreakable bond with his father, James Moore is turning personal loss into a powerful mission — proving that even in the face of heartbreak, we can rise, inspire, and change lives.
